Welcome to Paradise Valley Baptist Church of Phoenix, Arizona!

About Our Church

Paradise Valley Baptist Church is an independent self-governing baptist church in cooperation with the Arizona Baptist Convention and the Conservative Baptist Association of America.

We are a church that exists to "love the Lord, our God" by reaching the spiritually lost and developing followers who are devoted to a daily walk with Christ and who are committed to coming together to worship God by learning His Word, building relationships, and being accountable to one another.

Knowing God Personally

It is possible to know God personally… in fact, the very reason God created us, is so that we might we know Him personally. But…to many people, God seems very far away, distant, and impersonal. Obviously, there is a problem.

The Bible teaches that God loves you

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

And God wants you to know him personally

“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3

But man is separated from God and is love

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,”
I Timothy 2:5a

Why do you think man is separated from God?

The Bible says man's sins have separated him from God…

“But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.” Isaiah 59:2

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23

God created us to know and love Him.

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” Romans 1:19-21

This attitude and its results are what the Bible calls sin. This separation caused by sin creates some severe problems.

Sin causes us to…

Miss God's very best for our life.

“Jesus said… I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

Face death and a judgment

“For the wages of sin is death…“ Romans 3:23

“in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,”
II Thessalonians 1:8-9

But there is a solution…

Jesus Christ died and conquered death for you

We deserve death and judgment, but Jesus took upon Himself the punishment for our sins, so that we could have a personal relationship with God.

“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus”
I Timothy 2:5

Jesus is the way to God

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” John 14:6

Does this make sense to YOU? Still, it is not enough to just know this…

Each of us by faith must receive Jesus Christ if we want to know God

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:” John 1:12

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,” Ephesians 2:8

What must I do to receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior?

Acknowledge that I can't save myself, I am indeed a sinner and want to turn away from that way of life.

Believe that Jesus died for my sins on the cross which provided my forgiveness, and was buried on the third day, rose again from the grave, and is now in heaven waiting to come back for me one day.

Confess the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and invite Him into your life.

Your desire to have a personal relationship with God, can be expressed through a simple prayer like this…

“Dear Lord, I want to know you personally. I am willing, with your help, to turn from my sins. Thank you for sending Jesus who died in my place and rose again to be my Savior. Come into my life and lead me. In Jesus name, Amen.”

If you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior today, we at Paradise Valley Baptist Church would love to hear from you. Contact us at (602) 992-8991.
